Ayming’s International Innovation Barometer 2022, covered on the old site in October 2021, described an uneven response to the pandemic. Some businesses accelerated new ways of working while others struggled to maintain research and development.
Different experiences of the same disruption
The original coverage reported a survey of 585 senior executives. It highlighted both pressure to innovate and practical barriers: uncertain budgets, a shortage of specialist talent and difficulty judging how quickly competitors were changing.
What the report asked businesses to consider
The discussion centred on the ability to identify opportunities and turn them into funded work. Having a reason to innovate did not automatically provide the people or resources to do it. These findings belong to the survey’s pandemic-era context; they are retained here as historical coverage, rather than a description of business conditions today.
